A hugely acclaimed actress with an extensive career spanning decades across TV, stage and radio. Always in demand both for her highly respected acting skills as well as the fun she brought to each production; as one press article surmised, “She was known equally for her professionalism, warmth and effervescence of character.”

A regular voice on Radio 4 plays and iconic as ball-breaker Ruth Gregory in long running 1980s TV drama Dinas, dubbed Wales’s answer to Dynasty! Her extensive credits include Casualty, Doctors, Pobl y Cwm,  Stella, Cara Fi and 35 Awr, and known to generations of children captivated by her performance as the friendly witch Rala Rwdins in the ever popular S4C show. 

Best known in the industry by her stage name Christine Pritchard, she was a leading light in welsh theatre and huge supporter of the arts, appearing at the Sherman, The Torch, Theatr Clwyd, Theatr yr Ymylon, and was one of the founding members of Mappa Mundi, Theatr Bara Caws. and In 2008, of women's theatre company Theatr Pena, to revive classic plays with significant roles for women.

Best friend and fellow actress Olwen Rees said: "She was meticulous in her preparation for each role, the text being of ultimate importance. Chris loved working with younger performers and would follow their careers giving them advice whenever she could. Looking forward to a new brilliant generation of actors who’d take over from us oldies!"
